Guter Tipp Klaus, vielen Dank.

Beim Anruf in München kann man doch was abklären:

Re: Intelligenter Notruf

Re: Intelligenter Notruf
Hi there,
Last month I bought a new leftover 2020 R1250RT. Went for a 150km trip the following sunday but after about 20km the SOS warning appeared on the dashboard and it didn't disappear since.
Yesterday, about one month later, BMW dealer did a "hard reset" of the SOS system, and after that the SOS warning didn't appear anymore on the dashboard the whole day.
Today I went for a ride, and after 3 kilometers the SOS warning appeared on the dashboard and didn't disappear once again :-(
Hopefully the new software update will solve the issue!

Re: Intelligenter Notruf
No. As I understood the dealer, they changed the switch/microphone/speaker unit on the handlebar.
Re: Intelligenter Notruf
Thanks.
According to my BMW dealer my bike's issue is the hardware (TM module) or the software. Hopefully the new software will solve the problem, but I'm quite sceptic about it. Dealer says there are a lot of eCall problems.
You also can't permanently switch off the eCall, you have to dismount the whole hardware e.g. TM module (placed underneath the fueltank) SOS button, otherwise it will drain the battery.
Curious when the new software update will be available.

Re: Intelligenter Notruf
Yes, I still have the warning in my display. As I mentioned, my BMW dealer told me to call him back beginning of April to see if the software update is available. If it is, I will make an appointment for the update. They were waiting for it a month ago but BMW delayed it. My dealer also said that there were many problems with the SOS system.GvG hat geschrieben: ↑27.03.2021, 21:23

Re: Intelligenter Notruf
Thanks. My dealer told me the same story. Hopefully it will solve the problem, it's very annoying and the SOS light drains the battery, so the bike has to be connected to the Optimate constantly.
Dealer also told me that the new S1000XR has al lot of SOS warning problems, more than the RT/GS(A).

Re: Intelligenter Notruf
Which dealer do you use? I don't seem to have any battery problems related to this warning but it could be that I just don't notice it since I ride regularly. I don't keep the bike at the charger when not in use for just a couple of days.
Re: Intelligenter Notruf
I live in the Netherlands so I have a dutch dealer. The battery drains in about 5 days on my bike.

Re: Intelligenter Notruf
So I checked again today and it’s true that the problem might be draining the battery for me too. I hadn’t noticed it before but today, when I connected my BMW charger, the voltage was down to around 12V after just 1.5 days of idleness. That shouldn’t be the case. So I keep it connected now too and hope that this update is available soonest! Very annoying problem.GvG hat geschrieben: ↑27.03.2021, 21:39 Thanks. My dealer told me the same story. Re: Intelligenter Notruf
Today, once again, I disconnected the black negative on the battery, waited about 10 minutes and connected it again. Straight away I went for a ride and the SOS warning turned on and off about 4 times and then stayed off the whole ride. Pushed the red SOS button on the handlebar and everything worked.
This ritual I did a couple of times before with the same result: the day I disconnected the negative on the battery the SOS warning stayed off the whole day (after turning on and off about 4 times), but the next time a took my bike for a ride the SOS warning turned on permanently after about 3 kilometers :-(
Strange, but a lot of XR owners have exactly the same problem. I hope it's the software, but it could also be the hardware, because some XR owners who got a new telematica module didn't had any problems anymore afterwards.
